	I have a spiral 2d curve I am scanning, how do I swap the start/stop points.
</p>

<p>
	In other words if I am starting at point 1 and ending at point 1000, how do I swap to change its start and end location? Making point #1 point #1000s coordinates.
</p>

<p>
	for additional reference, this is a single 2d line in the CAD. I know the trick about selecting segments in the direction you would like to scan, I need to know how to change directions on a single CAD line.

	I am a bit new to freeform. (read the book, havent taken the training).   
</p>

<p>
	When evaluating a plane vs. a Freeform Surface with the exact same plane points recalled.  I am getting different values.  the difference is small but important in my measurement.  I am having a hard time wrapping my head around why they would show different FORM, sigma,  and min/max point.
</p>

<p>
	What about freeform seeing a flat surface makes it calculate differently than the plane feature calculating a plane? 
</p>

<p>
	Why are sigma values different?  Is one giving me the "sigma of a plane" and the other giving me the "sigma of an arbitrary point cloud"?
</p>

	Hi, I measure a very small freeform surface and need to exclude a certain circular area from evaluation. I use scanned point sets in my strategy and it would be very difficult to exclude the area during scanning, because the surface is so small and the tip radius is rather large in comparison. I fear the stylus might touch that area anyway and produce faulty points. It'd be better to mask the area afterwards, but I have no idea how to do that.

	I have a round part with a plane close to the top. Datum B is the plane. Datum A is the OD. Base alignment is the plane as Spatial and Z Origin, OD is X and Y origin, and there is a small slot in the top plane the is perpendicular to the plan, but rotated 15 degrees. This slot is my rotation in the base alignment. On top of the -B- plane is a scrollwork like feature with a profile to ABC. There is also a profile for the scrollwork. This scroll work walls are basically perpendicular to the plane -B-. How do I set up the fitting options for the scroll work freeform in order for the profile to just A and B reads correctly. I think I want to allow rotation and X and Y and that's it (Looking for advice to understand)? When you check the box is that allowing rotation or stopping it?

	I have a program that has a profile callout that goes from point A to Point B.  Originally I scan this as sever curves because that is what engineering wanted... i e one curve from point A to Point B across several features (radius, cone, radius, diameter..etc).  They then came back and asked to separate the curves into individual sections... I did this and for YEARS this was fine.   Now they want it back to original 1 scan.  Program has evolved to where I do not want to use the original probe I used to get it in one scan.  I tried to recall all the individual scan sections into 1 curve, but I am getting random "noise" on the curves.   I am using the same filters on the recall... if I increase the filter, i filter out the noise, but then the complete scans do not match the individual scans.  Several part runs do, some multiple complete scans have this noise but the rest of the scans match... its all random...

	I often use curves to establish a point cloud in which I recall feature points to create lines. This runs pretty smoothly about 75% of the time. The other 25% of the time I get the annoying purple highlight on the line and it can't recall the points. 
</p>

<p>
	The solution so far has just been going back into "recall feature points" and redraw my box. 
</p>

<p>
	Is there a way to stop this from happening?
</p>

	i am looking for a way how to obtain circles from 2D curve which was measured as 16 rotary divisions.<br>
	I wanted to quickly scan a groove, then later obtain dimensions.

	For width i was able to just intersect curve with a theoretical plane and report 2 point distance - which worked on division without problems.
</p>

<p>
	For circles i have no luck.
</p>

<p>
	No PCM available - any hints?
</p>

	I need to evaluate the Z position of this curve, but the measured points have their probing vector almost entirely aligned with the X axis, with little to no Z component.

	I tried to request the Z displacement of the curve by applying a best‑fit alignment on the curve feature, but this led to significant deviations, on the order of several millimeters, even though the machining allowance was practically zero.
</p>

<p>
	What would be the correct strategy to reliably evaluate the Z position of such a curve when the point vectors are not well oriented along Z?

I am measuring four 3d curves (patterned 68 times) on a turbine blade with 68 blades.  I did a Best Fit of Multiple Curves of all of the curves, allowing all degrees of freedom, and finding a portion of the blade to be out of spec.  Odd thing happens when I turn off either the Z translation or rotation, all best fit values went to 0.0000.  When I turn off both Z rotation and translation, the other values re-appear with their adjustments.<br>
<br>
Anyway, to my question.  Is there a way to adjust the Z location of the alignment so I can look at the results at different locations?

	Wenn ich es richtig verstanden habe, muss ich das Linienprofil in 10mm große Bereiche stückeln und jeden Bereich für sich einpassen.<br>
	Wie setze ich das in Calypso um? Ich kann das unter Linienprofil auswählen, die Einpassung wird dann aber nur auf das ganze Profil angewendet, nicht auf das gestückelte Segment.

	Our main purpose to use Curve here at our shop is to scan an internal shape that closely resembles a "cam" shape, like a smoothed out triangle. We have many different sizes of this shape in many different parts. The shape is evaluated with "curve form" and the operators just see that profile number, and I also give them form plots and a graphic element so they can see what the shape looks like compared to nominal. Our engineers dig deeper on this scan. I export the text data (ASCII) the gives XYZ and IJK actuals of 360 points around this cam shaped form.  They take this text data/raw data file and convert this into excel and it creates the shape in a customized excel file.  
</p>

<p>
	What I'd like to know is, is there a way to add something to the naming of the ASCII text file/raw data that will keep the files from getting overwritten.  When using "Resources&gt;&gt;Name for output files&gt;&gt;...for this Measurement Plan...you can add fields or header info so that each pdf. is named differently with PCM Syntax. I tried doing something like this to the text "ASCII" file, but it didn't work. I copied and pasted what I have circled in green on the attached excel file, but it didnt get the "incremental part number" it just added what I pasted in the points in file. I don't know if there is another way to get the individual actuals of the 360 or so points that the curve scans.  I know I can get the point to the pdf instead of the form plot, but that's not helpful if the engineer's goal is to convert the ASCII-text file from Notepad to excel and plot it in their evaluation excel file. Parts spin at high speeds inside this cam shaped from so they want to see wear patterns.

<p>
	When I run a curve profile, the corners are looking very wonky (see pic below).  I have tried different filtering methods, but nothing seems to work.  Any ideas?

<p>
	So I can go around and tackle cutting sections like this cam lobe for instance and choosing the spline it creates to measure 2D curves. I did (3) separate curve scans and recalled points into one compiled 2D curve. When I look at the graphic, it looks like the measured points (green line) and nominal points are center of ball? The small dots near lobe surface are the deviations. With the form being around 2mm I'm assuming/guessing this has to do with center of my 4mm ball?? Not sure. The profile of some of these lobes I measured on Adcole machine and the form error is with "a few microns". I've played around with the digitizing on/off and clicked stylus correction box but it just errors out the software. Any clarity as to what I'm looking at would be appreciated.

	Hello, I am being asked if it's possible to measure a maximum mismatch of .2mm between two tools. Highlighted below one tool is cutting the red line and another tool is cutting the yellow. I'm assuming curve might be able to accomplish this but I'm still learning it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
