	As relates to CT, what cathode warm up procedures do you do? Do you use the X-COM utility (conditioning) or rely on the Zeiss Quality Suite overlay?

<p>
	Hello everybody. I am quite new into Zeiss Inspect Xray 2025 Pro and after many unsuccessful tries i am addressing to this forum hoping that someone could help me.
</p>

<p>
	I have two Volume data acquired with Zeiss Metrotom 800. I would like to align this two datasets first using a best fit and then make a Volume difference between them which should result in a new Volume. Of course i have tried different options, Meshing the volume at least for the alignent. WQould also love to Create a volume region from the part and maybe then the substraction works...at least in this direction i am going but still , alignment is a pain. I know volumes can not be aligned and i just need a mesh for Cad but still, any work around would be great.
</p>

<p>
	Can someone tell me a viable option that works?
</p>

<p>
	Thank you in advance.

	Hello everyone,
</p>

<p>
	I've been doing videos using X-ray for some time now.
</p>

<p>
	Usually we only make translation videos into the inspected volume to show our clients.
</p>

<p>
	This time I wanted to display the CAD file in the video to show the dynamic CAD cut overimposed on the volume during the video.
</p>

<p>
	But it seems the CAD file doesn't appear correctly.
</p>

<p>
	I attach to this help request several images to explain.

<p>
	This is kind of a long shot, but here goes -
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	I have a GOM Metrotom 6 Scout (225kv). Currently running Zeiss X-ray Professional 2023 (with license). Everything was going smoothly, until recently. I installed a software to use for an industrial camera inside the machine, and was not successful in getting it operable, so I uninstalled the software. Now, our Gigabit CT adapter (for the GOM) and the Ethernet server adapter I350-T2 show "Unknown network, not connected." I can still turn on the x-ray source with the X-COM utility, but cannot initialize the source from within the X-ray Pro software (Error CT-0007 presumably because the software can't see the network cards). No amount of resetting the network cards from either the "Configure System" after "System Analysis" within the X-ray Pro software or even externally from Windows is yielding any result. I believe something with PVI Manager got messed up, as the X-COM utility did throw an error relating to the PVI software, but still functions.
</p>

<p>
	Can someone at Zeiss, or elsewhere, explain all of the supporting software for these machines (B&amp;R Automation + licensing, PVI Manager + licensing, etc).
</p>

<p>
	There just isn't a lot of documentation on how it all works together, which makes troubleshooting this a nightmare.
</p>

<p>
	Thanks for any help.

	Is there a magic formula for scanning thinner plastic samples, without ending up with holes in the mesh? I seem to go back and forth in troubleshooting this issue. Less kV, more exposure and more image averaging seem to work on some projects, more kV with less exposure works better at other times. Struggling with a project currently, no matter the settings, seem to be having issue getting decent polygonization. Have attempted to utilize multiple variations of pol. settings as well. Have as much angle on the sample as I can manage. I'm left wondering if there was a "standard" setting to begin with regarding.

<p>
	Once we set our scan at 120mm or less zoom, we get very poor surface quality on the volume and polygonized mesh if we use full resolution. If we use half resolution the volume and scan looks absolutley amazing!!!
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	We are better off scanning 2 parts at 60 zoom at half resolution than 4 parts full resolution at 120 zoom. That works for small parts, but for larger parts that need to be moved out to 120mm zoom we get poor surfaces. The same part pushed back to 300mm zoom will look amazing, but we lose resolution at 300mm obviously.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	We have many .05mm tolerance surface profiles and scan quality is critical for us.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Once we go to 60mm zoom we cannot consider using full resolution if our part has surface profile tolerances, we must use half resolution...Could someone that works in the xray department comment on this issue? We've been using the Metrotom for 4 years and tried everything you can imagine...we've tried no filter, .5Cu, 1mm Cu, 1000-3000 images, 200-1200ms, hardening on/off, etc, volume filtering off/on, etc. This has to be a known issue.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Thanks

	<p>
		Hi Community,
	</p>

	<p>
		I’m currently looking for a solution to create a mesh from a multi-scan file, ideally with a fast and efficient workflow for separating and analyzing each part.
	</p>

	<p>
		The method I’m using now involves separating the volume into individual parts, creating a mesh for each one, and then analyzing in ZEISS Inspect. I’ve tried a few approaches:
	</p>

	<ul>
		<li>
			Separating the volume and generate stages.
		</li>
		<li>
			Splitting the components into new parts.
		</li>
		<li>
			Using the clipboard .
		</li>
	</ul>

	<p>
		However, there are some drawbacks with these methods. For example, the first and third options are time-consuming when creating meshes for each part in serial production. The second approach requires analyzing each part separately, which also slows down the process.
	</p>

	<p>
		In summary, I’m looking for a way to generate a mesh from the raw data and then split it into separate meshes efficiently. (a way to seperate the volume with mesh and not to seperate and then create the mesh for each seperated part) Does anyone have suggestions for improving our workflow to save time, especially when working with files containing multiple parts (sometimes 8 or more)?
	</p>

	<p>
		Thanks in advance for any advice!
	</p>

	How do you approach multi material scan settings? Lets say for example, you have a light rubber component attached to a stainless steel rod. Are there any tips/tricks to not washing out one or the other? Should there be two separate scans spliced together? There is relatively no information akin to the likes of Zeiss' Measuring Strategies Cookbook for CMMs. Will Zeiss be offering similar for the Metrotom?
