[Lo...]
I'm stumped. I created a routine for a single fixture using a Contura G2 2014 with a Vast XXT, articulating head. We have built an Auto-Run Fixture, so I changed to a Star Probes to eliminate the Articulations because of spacing issues between the parts. I then adjusted my safety cube so the star probe wouldn't crash into the other stations. Well, that didn't work. Where the stylus should be .250 form the part, it's 6 inches off of the part and into the next part's station. For some reason it still see's the articulation, I'm guessing. There are 32 parts in this part family and I do not want to re-write all of them with the new probe, I'm looking for a stetting to adjust for this. Can some one HELP? Pulling out what's left of my hair!
[To...]
Have you considered using +Z clearance planes? When using CP-Y you're going to have to clear the quill, too. It's not as bad on CP-X and CP+X. And, not an issue on CP+Y. Using CP+Z will rely on the Clearance Distance (and possibly position points) for the necessary clearance.
[Lo...]
Tom, I've considered it but have been hesitant because of the shape of the part. I will give it a try, I may have to put some manual points in to clear it. I am hoping to find a simpler solution but it's Monday, so there is that. [To...]
see attached example of measuring circle on -Y side. 1st 3 pages show positions using CP-Y and 2nd 3 pages show positions using CP+Z.CP-Y vs CP+Z.pdf
[Lo...]
This is the shape I'm dealing with. So it looks like I may have to add some move points. Tom, your images made perfect sense. It's not going to be an easy change but worth it in the end.Capture.PNG
