Does anyone know what this setting is used for and if we need it turned on or not? I believe it is defaulted to on.

It is on here, but has to be turned on in the Features Settings Editor. Either "all features" or "selected features"

It is for automatically exporting measuring points to a defined location in a different format than Zeiss's .zmp format. One reason a user may choose this is to capture data on a particular CMM but evaluate and report from a different computer and/or different software than Calypso. This can possibly speed up cycle time, because you're not waiting for Calypso to calculate and report.

Another reason a user may choose this option is to preserve the "digital twin" of the part, which is the scanned data. This may be a more secure and agile strategy for storing the data than in the "idmeaspoints" folder that Calypso defaults to.
