QR Code with Calypso

Has anyone used a bar code reader to read a QR code into calypso?

I have bar code reader that reads QR codes. From what I can see and have experimented with, calypso does not read a QR code. Am I missing something here?

What is your goal?

There are barcode readers which output the code like a keyboard, so you can insert the code in every text input field as if you were typing it.
By the way, with an O-Inspect or ViScan head QR codes can be read with the camera.

I used to use QR code with Calypso. We scanned every part we put on the CMM for a certain customer. We had a code that included the part number, Julian date, and increment part number laser etched on each part. When you hit run and the cursor is in the user input area, you can scan the code and it inputs the code into the user input field the same as if you had excel or word open. You can test it out using excel or something.
