[Mi...]
"Error in the calculation of linearization data in the SDO" I'm getting this error during probe qualification. This is happening with the master probe while trying to calibrate the reference sphere position. This is a Duramax with an XXT head. - Both the reference sphere and probe are clean. There's no visible damage on either one. - The sphere is bolted down, and the surface it's bolted to is clean, so it's stable. - I've restarted both Calypso and the CMM itself. - We own two reference spheres, (25mm and 8mm) and both give the same error. Any other fixes to try?Capture.PNG
[To...]
Have you removed the XXT Sensor from the machine? Is the tightening ring at the top firmly tightened? Is there any metal finds on the magnet of the adapter plate? Is the MasterProbe tightly screwed into the adapter plate? No visible damage is one thing but do you know if the sensor has been crashed? Damage could be internal. Checking the status window may show collision if done recently.

[Er...]
Having built computers I found removing the xxt easy. The knurled ring is plastic and is only hand tightened. There is a keyway to line up the xxt for probe changes. On our Duramax there is a cable that plugs into the xxt. Loosening the ring allows the xxt to drop with the cable attached. Might want to try cleaning everything too with 99% isoproyl alcohol. It could be the SDO files are corrupted. I had that happen when it locked up and had to shut it down mid-qualify. I had to create a new machine to fix it.
[To...]
Please sign in to view this quote. If you haven't removed it, then it is probably not the issue. The most important step is making a firm connection with the pin connector when re-assembling the XXT. Don't rely on the tightening of the ring to make the connection. Insert the connector firmly, then begin the ring tightening process
[Mi...]
Alright, I checked and the ring was loose. Tightening it fixed the issue. Thanks!
[Ca...]
We got the same problem after a software freeze. The system lost all the styles and then manually we insert them again. After that, when we tried to qualified the stylus something happens with the MasterProbe. When we repeat the same process another error: ---SOLVED! --- The ring was not tighten enough, so the pins almost with false contact. After that I inserted all the stylus and the qualification process was successful. Thanks Tom Oakes indication...
