[Ma...]
Sorry if this has been asked before, search is not letting me search for these things. When I tell the probe to drop stylus, it still remains attached with all contact points still engaged. The magnet is not at full power, but it essentially needs to be pried off. Same when it goes to change styli automatically, it makes loud snap noise when dropping. Any help would be appreciated! Thank you, Marcel
[Er...]
I could not find anything either. Most advice is clean everything. Redo the rack location. Sorry.
[Je...]
Please sign in to view this quote. . Hello, Marcel. Thanks for asking this question. I've dealt with the same issue on XXT sensors. Most of the time, the solution is as Erik suggested. These are the steps I took to successfully fix the problem: 1. Clean the contact surfaces with lint-free isopropyl alcohol (ISO) wipes. Do not apply ISO directly to CMM hardware. Do not spray compressed air directly on CMM hardware. 2. Make sure the stylus rack and holders are square to the machine axis. Over time, if fasteners loosen or collisions occur, this squareness may need to be adjusted. Heavy stylus systems can also weight down XXT probe holders, causing them to no longer be square to the machine axis. If this is the case and the stylus system cannot be recreated with less weight, you either have to upgrade the probe holder rack to include additional support or you have to use manual changes for this particular stylus system.
