[Br...]
Good Morning to all and thanking everyone in advance I tried to load a step file today and was greeted with this Step file cannot be loaded. Please refer to the CAD. Log file for more information. Since my machine can only work with STEP files this is going to be a big problem moving forward. Any help with this would be great. Bruce M. [Ch...]
Loading step files is an option you have to pay for.
[To...]
Please sign in to view this quote. I recently had an issue loading step model into Calypso which is not usually a problem. The step model was created in MasterCAM so I don't know if that was the issue. I haven't had time to investigate. The CAD Log really doesn't tell me what the issue is, or maybe I don't understand what it is telling me.
[Th...]
Please sign in to view this quote. Don't think it's limited to mastercam. I've had a small number of STEP files from our company's CAD suite fail to import into Calypso with a similar error. Regression in the import module, maybe? I don't think this ever happened until we moved up to Calypso 2020.

[Ch...]
Is it the correct .stp version Calypso is compatible with ? Have you tried loading this .stp in any other software to confirm no issues ?
[Ow...]
It could be the version the model was saved under in the cad system. Solidworks for example has two different versions, one is compatible with older versions of calypso and the other is not.
[Ma...]
We are using SolidWorks and have recently updated the software to 2022, and now encountering the same issue. We are saving the file in the older SolidWorks version and then importing into Calypso to get it to open. Hope this helps...
[La...]
This was really strange, but there was a time when Calypso wouldn't open a ".step" file until I removed the "e" and made it a ".stp" file.
