[Er...] Posted May 18, 2022 Share Posted May 18, 2022 Can you share the specific customer requirements? Do they have a form with instructions? Just guessing from your post... I would not use the probe qualification data. That only tells me each stylus compared to the master probe. I would measure the reference sphere with the macro strategy. Using probe one as the reference, report the max-min deviation for the other probes in each axis. I guess for charts, plot the stylii X, Y, and Z. Naturally probe one will be all zeros. [Er...] Posted May 18, 2022 Share Posted May 18, 2022 Honestly, I'd ask the customer for more information and forms. Write a program to measure the reference sphere. Use probe one for the base alignment so the other probes compare to probe one. One of the options for measurement strategy for spheres is sphere macro. It takes points at equal spaces on the sphere. It could also make sense to say that the study should also take into account for all styli orientations. Perhaps, a reperesentative sample is sufficient for the customer. I found a couple of papers on this study; but, only posted a link to one of them. The other paper was from 1998, and focused on touch trigger probes; at the time touch trigger probes "accounted for 90% of the probes in service" Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
