[Ja...]
Hi, Didn't see the actual thing happening but I saw this error on the status window. "cnc disabled. reinitialize control",followed by "617 safety module" followed by "drives off". I am 99% sure that no program was running at that time and even if it was running it was a tested program without any modifications. any ideas what would have caused this error? PS. everything seems to be working fine now. I just had to turn on drives and change status to green light >continue< to start another run
[Da...]
Bump I have been getting this quite frequently lately and have no idea why. Since it doesn't seem to have much bearing on anything other than the annoyance of kicking off the drives from time to time, I planned on asking the Zeiss Tech during our next calibration. So if anyone has any info on this, i'd love to hear it. I should add that it only happens when the CMM is idle that i can recall. I'm running a Contura with an RDS XXT, Calypso 7.2 Thanks! [Ke...]
Just curious if anyone has come to a conclusion as to what the "617 safety fault" issue is? I recently just had this fault appear while on 2nd shift, when the CMM was sitting idle at 11pm. Operators unaware of the fault shut the machine down at the end of their shift, and the next morning during start-up, the stylus wouldn't recognize any surface detection while performing a base alignment. Shortly after, while running a qualification with the stylus system, once completed, the stylus would sit idle and and fault a "33" collision, on every stylus. After manually reteaching the stylus (qualify stylus), in which ever axis needed to be corrected , no more issues. We recently had the controller box replaced under warranty last September. Wondering if this could be related? This is a Spectrum CMM. I haven't had the fault com back in two weeks.
[Er...]
We had similar issues. Turned out the wiring in the Z axis cable run had worn to the point it created an occasional random bad connection tripping random errors. We struggled with this for years. Just recently a Zeiss tech found the issue. He took the wiring out of the cable run. With the CMM ready to run, he wiggled sections of the cable moving from one end to the other. He found one spot he could manipulate and trigger errors.
