[To...]
Is it possible to do an RDS-CAA qualification in a program? Working from home today so I can't test.
[Ia...]
I've done it, and it is pretty vanilla. Just make a qualification characteristic for each stylus like you normally would.
[Se...]
Hi, quite interessed in RDS-CAA but we don´t use this function here. At that time it was said that the measurement uncertainty would be too high. Do you have any empirical values? How much is the measurement uncertainty with the RDS-CAA qualification compared to a regular qualification?

I always suggest a test should be done between a regular qualification and an RDS-CAA qualification to determine if the variance is within acceptable limits. [Ri...]
Please sign in to view this quote. It is variable. A lot of it depends on the length of the stylus system.
[Te...]
I do believe the number they use is up to 0.010 mm error from CAA to calibrated at actual angle. I am not a fan of CAA for many reasons, although I always have one on my offline seat, the 0.010 error being the major one.
[To...]
I was finally able to test a qualification program on an RDS-CAA stylus system. However, it only does 6 angles, similar to the "Re-qualification" mode in the Probing System Qualification window. I would like to see the option to do the Full Qualification that uses 12 positions. [Ri...]
Please sign in to view this quote. The uncertainty is unacceptable. My Probing system qualification program fails far too many probes and far too many times only to go thru them in Probing system qualification and they all PASS. viewtopic.php?p=39441&hilit=Probing+sys ... ion#p39441
[Ri...]
Please sign in to view this quote. After speaking with a Zeiss employee yesterday, this is not possible right now (12 positions). I am having my Probe Qualification program looked at because it fails styli when ran in a program but will pass when ran thru the typical qualification menu. 🙄 Also note; the RC-CA system is not as accurate as the old fashioned RC-List. [Pa...]
We use a qualification program on an RDS-CAA with 12 positions
[Cy...]
These modes are always "greyed-out" for me and cannot be changed (6 points / 12 points).....it always defaults to Qualify Passive or something like that, then only calibrates with 6 angle positions.... Also, My Calibration results are always horrible and sometimes fail altogether when using the probe system qualification "Characteristic" inside a program.....This makes no sense, I wish ZEISS would correct.... [Er...]
I just created programs for all my stylii that use the RDS-CAA passive qualifications. It's only grayed out until you click on the selected stylii to the right. Make sure the Black triangle/arrow thing is showing that it is selected. As long as you select "Complete" it will qualify the full 12 positions and works great. Also, depending on the Probes, sensors, and qualifications, will determine which options are available from the list. Editing to add a couple of other things: The program allows me to measure all the probes at once. I then have the default report automatically saved so I can review the qualification results for every stylii. I hope this helps people with the same frustration/confusion I used to have.
