[To...]
Does anyone know how many probe holders can be mounted on a DuraMax? I've heard 4 but am interested if anyone has done it. Did it require any machine settings to be changed to allow 3 or 4 holders?

[Ca...]
I have three 3 slot holders on mine. I've been told, you can physically fit 4 three slot holders, but the machine will probably (or definitely) crash when homing.
[Sc...]
We have 3 - 3 probe holders on ours, I do not think I would attempt to to put a 4th on
[Ad...]
We stuck at 3 the problem with 4 comes when you use fixed star configurations with styli out the sides there isn't enough room.
[Pe...]
We experimented with this a while back. A fourth 3-probe holder sort of fits, but it hangs off the edge. You can only get one of the screws in, and at least one, maybe two, of the pockets can't be used as they end up outside the working envelope of the machine. I think there's a 1-probe holder in the Zeiss catalog, but we never looked at those. When we really needed more room in the rack we ended up building a lower tier out of 80/20 hardware and adding a second row of three more holders. All of our parts fit in the front half of the table, so the loss of measurement volume wasn't an issue here.

If they can afford to lose a little table space, they can create a multi-tier rack. I also considered taking the probe rack from an O-Inspect and mounting it on a DuraMax table. [Ri...]
There's also this crazy thing that someone developed. I remember Daniel posting it, and causing an uproar. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Carbon-3-Probe ... Sw3rxfuw~
[Ja...]
Has anyone used the Carbon3 probe holders and racks with success? We have a space issue since we have to "slide" and reference a few large parts that don't fit on our Contura 10/12/6 XXT in one clamping. We can't put the probe rack in the middle of the back so we have it on the right side corner. We can fit 6 probes across but need twice that many. The Carbon3 looks like a solution but it would be nice to get some feedback on someone who used it and how it was setup.
[Ne...]
Ready to laugh? We retrofitted an additional rack mount to a Duramax, just lower and sticking out more so technically we can have up to 20 holders using 6 3-slot holders and a single on the ends. 🤣 It works great but the automatic stylus system changer in Calypso only displays a max of 15 holders. Does anyone know how to add more than 15 holders in Calypso?
[Ne...]
Never mind. The user guide said you can define up to 676 holders and the up and down arrow in the automatic stylus system change window, changes the page. Heaven forbid we label some of these buttons "page up, page down"... 😎
