3D Curve Stylus Movement

Its just a conceptual question: When you are doing 3d Curves with CAD model, does the stylus moves according to the Cad model profile or it tries to remain in contact with the part all the time (when actual part curve is slightly different than model).

The reason I am asking this I have multiple similar parts, but with a slightly different 3d curves. And all I am interested in getting the actual 3d curve data without having to create the program again and again.

If you're using an active scanning head like a Vast XT, there is some forgiveness on path followed.
If you're using a passive scanning head like an XXT, not so much, it will error out if it's too far from nom.

You can make every new curve and just use miniplan to run specific one.
