Measured Points

Hi all,
I have very little Piweb knowledge and we have the most basic version. Whatever comes with Calypso 7.2

We're pretty happy with the Custom report, but I'm trying to delve into Piweb to see what it can do. I have a bunch of programs with measured points. I'd like to use those measured points to create a report with, for example, the Process Protocol template, and look at a report of 10 parts. I think that's the max I can run with the basic version. I can load the points and run the program without clearing the existing results, which basically just creates another report. But I only get results for 1 part in the Piweb report. If I load another set of measured points and do the same thing, I still only get a report for that 1 pc. How do I get results for a run of 10 parts using the Process Protocol template, for example?

I'm pretty sure Basic Reporter only does one part, but I'm on Calypso 5. You would have to load multiple part data into Piweb. It should be in the manual.

When you originally ran the parts, did you have Multiple Reports active? (ticked on in Multiple Reports page) I assume you have it active now.

Go into Results to File > PiWeb Reporting > Configuration > Managing Measurements. to see if it contains data from all 10 parts.

Try using Subsequent Evaluation of several measurements.

Yes, loading Measured Points essentially sideloads the data into Calypso and in simple terms, doesn't recognize it as a new part. Just new data in the same workpiece. So, it doesn't create a new record in PiWeb.

Like Tom mentioned, if you have Multiple Report / Multiple Printout turned ON when you measured the parts, the data is already stored in the database. You will be able to look at the last 10 measurements per inspection plan.

If you dont see the PiWeb sidebar when you load up Process Protocol, hit the F6 key to toggle it on/off. Then make sure your measurement selection is set to something greater than 1.

Measurements are added to the piweb databases by virtue of running the part normally (i.e. Run --> Clear existing results...) so there's no need to use load measured points.

I ended up calling Zeiss and found out you must use Subsequent Evaluation for saved measured points, as opposed to loading the points, running the part again, and not clearing the results. That just replaces the current run, which is why I was only getting 1 result. Makes sense now. Not so much yesterday. 🤣

We have years of saved measured points that I need to incorporate into SPC. So far Piweb looks like it's doing what I need it to do. I like the robustness of Piweb compared to the Custom report. It's just a little daunting at first and the documentation is less than useful for someone trying to teach themselves the program, IMO.

As always, thanks for the replies and help. It's always much appreciated! 🙂

I have Multiple Reports/Multiple Reports Active checked. However, I haven't created a Multiple Report with the Create New Multiple Report icon. I currently have Default Presentation Report active, with a Custom Report for my company, and a Default Report with everything turned off to keep the windows from popping up.

Do I need to either create a new multiple report with both Custom and Piweb as report features, and/or have a Piweb report loaded instead of the Custom report to have it populate the database? If I click on Display Multiple Report Now it says No Results Available. But I've ran this part multiple times and Multiple Reports active is checked in all of my programs.

Color me confused.

It only adds measurements to the database if I use Subsequent Evaluation. It's not automatically adding them as I run the parts in real time.

I just tested this in Planner and it appears that data is only added when running a PiWeb template, not the Presentation template.
