The rubber boots on the joysticks of our CMMs are deteriorating, and one of them is falling apart. Does anyone know if these can be replaced?

You could call zeiss or your local zeiss distributer and probably find new replacements or maybe they know someone who has an old box.
Tell us where you're located and somebody close might have one setting around.

I build arduino robots with my son and I've seen tons of joystick boots on supply websites. I'm sure you could find a comparable boot online. Both the potentiometer dial and e-stop button look like off-the-shelf items and I bet the joystick is the same.

I've rebuilt and replaced all sorts of machine/controller parts for various types of machines over the years. 90% of the parts can usually be found online. Zeiss has to buy them from somebody. They don't make them. You just have to spend a little time researching but you'll save a boat load of money.

We had the same problem a couple of years ago.
Zeiss wasn´t able to send us new rubber boots. We had to change the whole joysticks! That wasn´t cheap 🙁
But you are right: if you have some time for that, you shall find adequate spare parts somewhere! 😉

Aaron, did you find replacement boots for your joystick? We are having the same problem with our 9 year old contura.
