Purpose of local version

This helps you easily go back and forth between previous revision of the measurement plan. That way if there was either an unintended change, or a Drawing Revision roll-back, you can easily do it without having to keep multiple measurement plans.

You still save normally, but when you go to save it will ask you if you want to create a new revision. If you select yes, it will ask you for comments or anything that you want to enter to help you distinguish between previous revs. The previous version is saved inside of the measurement plan folder. When you open the measurement plan, it will prompt and ask you which revision you'd like to load.

It's a really nice function. Especially to be able to do it locally, and not need something like MCC/Ivy.

Richard, wasnt ivy discontinued before it was released?

Any one who have tested this function with several cad models and free form? Works good, or "work" like a zeiss product?

I keep hearing that it's coming. We shall see. Lol.

I don't use it very much, so I can't say how well it works regarding that portion of it, but I would assume, with how it works, that it should work well.

How good is local versioning?
It is actually a feature that I have been looking for.

Is it possible to recall measured points into a newer/older version?

Local versioning is same as on Git ( as manual says ).
Advantage is, that you can run older revision on autorun and you can still work on new one.

If you don't rename elements and element is measured in older revision, then measured points are available ( but they can be putted into Calypso with some afford - saved measured points ( ZMP ) are just ZIP archive )

Played a bit around with it today.
And it could be better.
I can't have two versions in auto-run at the same time. Which I find a little anoying as some of our customers sometimes want an old version of a part.

Seems that choosing older version of meas. program is rewriting something within folder.
So only option how to use older v. is copy a folder - rename folder itself and rename inside folder "ARCHIVE" in it to preserve version select. Then it's safe to work with.

I could, but then I might aswell have two seperate programs from the beginning...
Zeiss could hve made very good configuration management inside Calypso, but seems like a 80% solution to me.
