Hi Andrew,
Can you post a picture of the CMM Position points list, but with the point coordinates relative to the Base Alignment, not the Feature?

Also, you're going to need 4 position points. 1 at the top of the part that centers the star so that it can go straight down into the part, the next at the same X/Y location, but with the Z location down inside the part so the star drives straight down and is clear to measure, then the measurement, then reverse the position points so the probe backs out of the part the same way it came in.

Cmm position points are absolute points in space. They don't care what tip, angle, etc that your probe is at. So you need to think about that when defining them and make sure you're using the correct tip and angle when creating them. I use the right button on the jogbox to define them as I drive the machine. Then I clean up the nominals, if needed.

Hi Andrew,
Think about the order of operations in the Strategy window.
First it will do a Clearance Move. The probe will move to the outside of the clearance cube and position itself to drive directly to measure the feature based on your clearance and retract distances.

Next, it's going to try and drive straight to your first CMM Position point in -Z unless you put in a CMM Position point in +Z before that to center the probe before you move down in -Z. You would need 4 total position points. Based on your current points, if those are indeed correct positions to center the star, your strategy would look something like this, based on your Base Alignment...

Clearance Data in +Z
CMM Position at X+0, Y=-.432, Z=.5 (This move should center the star probe in +Z and clear the top of the part)
CMM Position at X+0, Y=-.432, Z=-.432 (This move goes straight down the bore to -Z)
Circle Path (Measures the feature)
CMM Position at X+0, Y=-.432, Z=-.432 (This move goes back to the center in -Z)
CMM Position at X+0, Y=-.432, Z=.5 (This move goes straight up, exactly the same way you got in there to +Z)
