[Pe...]
Hello, I have a part that has an elliptic bore at a 45°. I am asked to report the center position as well as D and D2. I have no curve to measure it with. So I am forced to use individual points, or the "unknown contour". Since I tried the contour and it failed for me, that's the method I am going to use because stubborn. My problems with the contour are twofold. First, the actual scanning turned out a bit odd in that after it completes the contour, it will attempt to "exit" the feature through it. It enters the ellipse just fine in the approximate center like an ID feature, but on the way out it seeming wants to treat it like an OD (the ellipse IS set as an internal feature). Needless to say, it alarms with a collision. When I look at the actual measured points, they are all pointing outside. Secondly when it reports, it seems to put the D actuals in the D2 and D2 into D. But at least I have the center point so I have that going for me. What do?

[Pe...]
Please sign in to view this quote. I do, that is how I am able to define it as a feature. My problem is with the strategies which seem to be limited to just points or the unknown contour.
[Jo...]
What's the length and width ? Too much to scan as circle ? You could recall points into ellipse feature.
[Da...]
Try changing the sign on the space axis to fix the vectors.
