adding project template to a package

Hello everyone,

I want to add a project template (.ginspect file) to a package. I can add scripts, report format but cannot add the project template. Is there a way to do that?

I also tried to open package file as zip file and add manually but it does not make any changes.

This is not supported, I'm afraid. Packages currently are only supporting item types which are used in projects. In addition, project templates can contain items which are used in packages, so we decided to draw the line here. Adding project templates files to the packages zipped content won't work, too, because the related administration data is missing then.

Many thanks for the quick response. The reason i am asking this to enable to use the password protection provided for packages. Recently, i also discovered that there is also password protection for project templates which solved my case. Still thinking that if it can be possible to combine these items in only one package, it would be more useful for sharing purposes.
