[Br...]
Hello, I am trying to straighten a section line. I would like to measure height difference on the sphere. Is it possible to straighten such a line? Thanks for help in advance.
[Be...]
Hi, I don't exactly know what you mean with "straighten the line" and what you would expect from this line, but may be other tools can give you access to the information that you need. For example: You can project your curve to a plane and can calculate the deviation between this two curves or You can directly create the deviation from your curve to a geometric primitive like a sphere or a plane Regards, Bernd
[Br...]
Hello, Thanks for your input. What I eventually would like to do is measuring the step height locally between the 2 spheres.
[Na...]
Hello Bram, how about using the function "deviation to geometry" (https://techguide.gom.com/en/article/cmd_comparison_create_deviation_to_geometry.html)? Select all points of your section and project onto a circle (projection mode: curve). As a circle use a maximum inscribed fitting circle from the section.
