[Li...]
My company has decided to have a TPM event for our CMM's. Does anyone have any Zeiss issued or routine maintenance protocols that you do at your facility? We have 3 Duramax, a Prismo and a Contura. The Contura is the only one with an open air travel area. I clean off the granite area where the outside arm travels everyday with alcohol and cloth so it stays clean. I'm wondering at what kind of interval someone pulls back the shrouds on a Duramax, Prismo and Contura and cleans, wipes down, vacuums other area? On a Duramax how often are you pulling the dust cover shrouds and wiping down the glass scales? Please send documents and comments/concerns. I'd like to see what your thoughts are. Anything we institute as TPM(Total Preventive Maintenance) will be done by operators in the cell where the specific CMM is stationed. Or this will be done by members of the maintenance team. Thanks, Lincoln
[Da...]
I only clean scales when I have issues. In practice, that can be done as part of a zeiss service, on on their instruction. My maintenance list: Daily: wipe down exposed guideways, check air supply. Weekly: Wipe down covers, granite work surface. Check/Clean covered guideways. Sweep, clean floors and surfaces. *Clean top of bridge* Monthly: Check/change controller air filters, clean air dryer, AC unit filters. Mop floor. Annually: Change compressed air filters. Zeiss Calibration on the recommended basic/complete schedule. CMM surfaces get cleaned with 99% IPA and lint free wipes. But that is for my lab. Something dirtier would need more cleaning. My old shop, I cleaned the guideway a few times a day when the laser was going. A cleaner shop can go longer.
