Can anyone explain what exactly is Spatial and planar rotation and how the values can change if they are used improperly.
When and how do we decide which feature to use plane or 3d, cylinder or circle, intersections etc.

And what about parts without a plane like a cylindrical part with curved ends.

Would be better to take basic course. Even manuals can be useful

Anyway "spatial" i primary and "planar" is secondary and it depends on drawing.
For rotational parts you use cylinder, 3dline or sphere. For other parts use the most stable elements to get good start.

I bought the ASMEY14.5-2009 book. It is my GT&T bible. It has a Datum Reference Frames section that explains the six degrees of freedom. Unless you get prints with ISO standard, I strongly suggest investing the book. Or, google GD&T 6 degrees of freedom.
