Missing Angle Request on Probe Qualification

What angle are you trying to achieve? This often times comes up when the probe is not touched off the center of the sphere along its' angle. You just have to tell it what angles you are trying to get, for example (A) -12.5 & (B) 40.0

Yes we are probing the Master Sphere alone the axis of the probe. We build and design a lot angle Styli Systems. My Problem is that the Popup window (picture #1) that allows you to enter the angle will not come up.

You want to check real angle, create a cylinder using the shank on the reference sphere not with ruby. You can check the real angle by analysing projection angle .

Did it calibrate? If you probed along the angle and you did not get the box, then check to see if it calibrated, if it did then you are done with that angle and can move on to whatever is next.

Sorry the 2 pictures posted are example to show what I was talking about. We just upgrade the pc to go from Windows 7 to 10.
And this dialog box will not come up. We calibrate angle probes all day we are a prototype shop.

Hello, If you don't know the probe angle when you create a new probe, you can learn the angle as Shabu pv said. If you are going to calibrate an angled probe in manual calibration, you can receive a warning in this way if your first contact point does not come approximately to the center of the sphere. Continue the calibration by entering the probe angle you made here. (A1-A2)

I think the A/B angle dialogue only comes up for new builds and after that it isn't editable. If it isn't coming up for new builds then that's not right. It should, as far as I know, because you need the ability to correct the approach vector when you create the probe.

I've found the easiest way to get the angle input box to show up is to probe the first point off of center of the reference sphere (closer to front or back). This also allows you to input 0's for non-angled styli, assuring they are normal to the probing contact.

The prompt sometimes doesn't show up if you hit the sphere too close to the center of the sphere (along one of the main axes).
Sometimes when calibrating 15degree probe I had to hit the sphere further away from the axis on purpose the make the machine "aware" that the probe is on an angle.
Just some thoughts, maybe it will help you.

The only way I see it is if I take the initial point too far from where the actual point should be.

Personally I think it should pop up every time a manual qualification point is taken.
