Using a best fit as tertiary datum for another position

Hello,
We have a cylinder with a bolt pattern on one end positioned to ABC on the other end. (-A- is the face, B a diameter, and C a hole on approximately the same radius as our bolt pattern.) As an alternative we want to look at this pattern to A B allowing a best-fit rotation of the pattern. We have no problem doing this. We would then like to report the datum -C- hole to A B & this best-fit of the pattern. Does anyone have experience doing this? Should I be able to do this? We do see the amount it needs to rotate in the best fit window. I assume I can use this with PCM somewhere. Any help is appreciated.
