[Me...]
morning all Last week when I was learning how to operate the Contura G2, I pushed emergency button accidently, after that I tried to move the stylus to home but I couldn't move, on the panel show CMM data not found and I couldn't turn on the drives, on the Calypso showed " CMM home position invalid, please re-initialize" and " CNC Disable, Re-Initialize Control" Please Help 🙁 🙁 🙁 🙁IMG_8404.jpgIMG_8403.jpgCapture5.PNGCapture4.PNGCapture2.PNGCapture1.PNGCapture.PNGCapture 1.PNG
[No...]
Hitting the emergency button normally doesn't invalidate the home position, it just turns off the drives.. Is that an offline seat or is simulation mode active? Because the line at 12:02:38 says "Simulation: Initializing". If you're in sim mode, the CMM is not connected to Calypso. Reboot the controller, then go to the CMM setup page and check if the simulation checkmark is ticked. Untick it, then reconnect.
[Jo...]
I have the same issue but when I try to re-connect it automatically stops in the middle of homing process and it disables me from turning the green light on.

[Ow...]
It doesn't show it in your status window but, sometimes on older CMM's it didn't so, make sure none of the axis (x,y,z) is setting on a limit switch, if they are setting on a limit switch the drives will not turn on. We have a Duramax CMM that had some kind of disk or sensor in the control cabinet that went bad and wouldn't connect?

[Da...]
If you try shift + lower return, then F12 on joystick will it home? edit: OK, I see now you can't even turn on drives Owen said something about limit switches, anyway: Turn the CMM down then turn it on, don't touch the keys on joystick, move each axis by hand to somewhere in the middle. With Y, push or pull the side where the motor is (the right side), then try to turn on the drives again

[Da...]
Do you have sufficient air pressure? Please sign in to view this quote. No, move each axis to its middle:conturamove.jpg
[St...]
Please sign in to view this quote. No this is actually the Z column pneumatic release. You wont be able to freely move the Z with the machine on and that switch enabled. Limit switches are little magnetic buggers that are on the Glass scale also there are conical shaped bumpers that are hard limit switches (beyond the software limit switch)
[Me...]
Update: I could turn on drive again by move each axis to the middle, thank everyone so much. 😃
[Pa...]
I had similar situation this morning with one of my Prismo CMMs. I did fix it by following steps below (in case someone stuck in same situation): 1. My CMM was somehow connected to Offline (simulation) mode - I reconnected it to CMM by unchecking 'Offline Simulation only' under Extras > Settings > CMM 2. Please make sure the current active probe is matching stylus dashboard (where you can see which probe head is empty and other rack info) 3. If your probe information would be correct by default, you will see a dialogue box for moving CMM to home position (no need to follow step 2) 4. If you have to follow step 2, then please follow only step 1 AGAIN. Now you will see a dialogue box for moving CMM to home position. You are all set!!!! 🙂 🙂
