What is this error?

There is no other information displayed by the "Status Window".

This happens when running a Stylus qualification from the Stylus qualification dialog box and only when the stylus is pointed in the Y+ axis, with articulations at A90,B-90 or A-90,B90 or within ±10° of A-90, A90.

When the error "D99..." happens the CMM red lights with the stylus tip lightly touching the reference sphere OD. (The XXT is no compressed as if there is too much travel).

I then manually qualify the stylus and it has worked each time, passing qualification.
Then I restart the qualification using "Continue" and it will qualify the stylus that generated the "D99..." error without issues.

(The attached file "sm_events 1MM X 21 D99 error 01-10-22.dat.zip" should be renamed to "sm_events 1MM X 21 D99 error 01-10-22.dat")

I had a similar thing happen when an operator either used a different stylus for the master or for the probe. I had to manually re-qualify all of the angles. He did it a second time and I made his supervisor re-qualify all the angles, hasn't happened since.

It turns out, this is caused by the stylus is still in contact with the reference sphere and has not backed away as it should to complete the last few "points" in that stylus qualification.

I found this out by accident, I was probing a part and some how duplicated it, and when I noticed the D99 error, i did it again and replicated the same error.

This doesn't explain why the stylus isn't backing away from the reference sphere.
