Stylus not qaulified.

Stylus scans feature and this error pops up, (Caution, stylus not qualified no. 1) red lights the
machine. I re-qualified it several times. I even deleted and re-created it, but still get the error?

A Zeiss tech remoted in for a different problem yesterday and was messing around with the
Config folder. Not sure if the two are related?

My bet is what ever they did in the config folder had something to do with it.
However, make sure that when you re-created it, the probe and every single stylus on it are named EXACTLY the same as they are in the program. An _underscore, space or capitalization can make a difference.
Also make sure they haven't been any bogus limits set like .0001mm delta/sigma or a time limit for qualifications.

we had this issue in July. was resolved when a technician worked over the internet, accessed the settings and created a new set up for the probe styli... had to reset settings and he did a great job... call support.
Owen is right... make certain all your labels, names are identical even a space can mess it up... ended up having to rename them all and start fresh.

I noticed this after 7.2 upgrade that some of my programs that have run fine for years now after running the entire part I get the "stylus not qualified #" ? The number is a styli position that does not exist and will red light the machine. I have found that if i reset the park position without doing anything else this fixes the error. But with 700+ programs it only does it sometimes and sometimes it works fine.

This happened on the last feature measured in the plan. As it turns out there was a CNC end park
position calling out a different stylus. I deleted the end park position and the problem went away.

Also, no idea how that end park position got in there in the first place?

Hello Steven,

We ran into the same problem. After the software was upgraded from 6.6 to 6.8, we had more than 500 measurement programs that have been used in version 6.6 for many years. We called Zeiss technical support, and they didn't help us solve this problem.

Did you solve this problem? Can you tell me how to solve it?

I've ran into this when the stylus was defined from an RC List and then changed to a RC-CAA.
You have to manually correct each feature for the stylus articulation angles.
