Attached is a scan of a part I am working on. The 3 non scanned areas are Ears that protrude out from the center. The print calls out the Envelope req but with it not being a full circle Calypso will not give me the results.

Im in need of a work around but Im coming up empty.. Help is appreciated...

Hi Mike,
You can use a Minimum Circumscribed circle/cylinder for the MMC condition and a Maximum Inscribed circle/cylinder for the LMC condition. If it passes both of those then it meets the Envelope Rule. This is for an OD diameter, which this appears to be.

You would do the opposite for an ID diameter. Maximum Inscribed for the MMC and Minimum Circumscribed for the LMC.

Is there is any difference between envelope principal in ISO and rule no .1 in ASME. Both have same meaning one is default and other need emphasis, correct??

For the newbies - just use OTE for MMC and ITE for LMC. Calypso automatically selects the correct evaluation depending on if it an OD/ID.
