[Ad...]
Is it possible to take a Calypso program, or the machine instructions from, and translate to UMESS-UX instructions? I've seen a DMIS out option which isn't even Zeiss native. You would think they would have simple translation for their own languages for backwards compatibility. Maybe a DMIS to UMESS-UX translator, if there is nothing native?
[Is...]
There used to be a Umess to Calypso option but was working well only with noncomplex programs.. I assume is not offered since ZEISS does not provide support to Umess anymore.. The opposite (Calypso to Umess) looks impossible from business perspective. [No...]
UMESS to Calypso is impossible not only because of discontinued UMESS support, but primarily because UMESS has far less capabilities than Calypso. Some strategies available in Calypso it doesn't even support. But there are much more basic differences between UMESS and Calypso. In Calypso there is no fixed "code" behind a program, since the actual amount and order of measurements is only determined at runtime based on the selected start parameters and the relations between the objects (features, characteristics etc.) included. One of the wonders of object oriented programming. Making a converter would take a lot off effort and produce little result because of high loss during conversion.
