How to measure and report Ø with envelop principle

Hello,

I would like to get a bit help about measuring Ø's on shafts or bores with envelop principle.

I understand from GD&T that envelop principle is about Size/form relationship. Features with max size in tolerance range then require perfect to near perfect form.

I understand how to work with LSG/GX/... but I'm a bit struggling how to get the form evaluation in the measurements since on the drawing there is only the notification of envelop principle next to the Ø size and tolerance range. (E)

Since the form tolerance is in relation to the size, I don't really have a idea about how to implement this.

Thanks in advance.

Kind regards

Thank you for your answer.

So I understand that for example I need to measure the bore or the shaft as a cylinder and then use 2 point diameter. Does it take dimension and form of the complete element in account?

So when maximum material state is reached, form must be perfect?

Kind regards

Calypso processes the "envelope" as a tangential element - the shafts are minimum circumscribed and the holes are maximum inscribed. So this tangencial diameter must not exceed tolerance and 2point diameter is used for other side of tolerance band.

Ex.: shaft diameter d10 +0,00 / - 0,10 (E) - tangencial diameter must not exceed 10,00 and 2point must not be lower then 9,90.
