VAST Manual Stylus system will not release?

I try changing the probe manually and nothing happens.
Says it will release in 5 seconds but never does....

What kind of CMM is this, specifically? Are you saying that the stylus system stays physically attached to the machine, or that Calypso keeps the system active?

I am having this same issue. I am not sure what happened as I came in and there was a note from a second shift employee saying "Sorry" 🤣 The head is a Vast gold I believe. I have tried using manual release/pick up, quick keys to drop the stylus, and tried restarting/shutting down the entire system and rebooting. Nothing is working. Any ideas?

The CMM this is on is a Prismo Navigator. The CMM does not recognize at all that there is a stylus in there and when I force a stylus in and then try to release it it will say "undefined", but does not release the stylus.

Try going to manual probe change and picking up the probe that is stuck. Does it go thru the weighing procedure as usual ? Make sure you tell the machine which probe is inserted, then check the feed rate over ride knob. Make sure its on. This applies to an RDX head . If it cant rotate because the over ride is set to ZERO it just sits there. No warning, no control of anything!

I have tried this just now. It does not make any noises in the head which I believe is the weighing process. It almost seems as if the head is getting no communication as it does not make the "click" noise when typically picking up a probe.
