Measuring Points

Morning all,

I have a few programs where, when I evaluate the measuring points it will only generate 30% of the characteristics, the rest are greyed out like they have never been checked. I can not work out the solution. Furthermore, I really need this to be working OK, as we do a lot of simulation and investigation based on previous data. We use Calypso 5.4 and programs are on a network drive. Any suggestions please ?

I knew that if the name of the feature changed, then the points would not load; but I was not aware that changes in the strategy could cause problems. Good to know!

No changes at all I knew that the changes will make a difference but I ran the program yesterday and the measurements points working only partially today so I do not understand unless is something to do with PCM but why the other programs are ok ?

I think I may be wrong about that. It does seem to still work but obviously only has the original strategy points. I remember having the same issue. Maybe it was the name change.

Ok so let's say that someone has changed the program in the meantime. What is the solution to fix this program for future pursposes ? Untick the measurement points, saved, re-open and ticked again or will it be fu*cked forever ? 🤣

If you want to see what feature names you have measured points for in each data set, you can. Within the "idmeaspoints" folder of the plan, there is a .zmp file for each run. If you change the extension to .zip, you can open it as a normal .zip file. The contents will be an extensionless file for each feature for which points were collected in that run. (Basically, they're tab-delimited .csv's of the ball-center points and the calibration data for the styli used in a kind of funky layout.) The size of each file will depend on how many points were collected.

Oh, and don't forget to change the extension back to .zmp before trying again to load the points in Calypso. 😃

Oh, and all of this is assuming that the points were saved by setting Measuring Points to "On" in Resources>Results to File...

Thank you guys for all this answers, but how stupid it was to design like that? 😕

I will try to save as a new program without them and switch back on in the new program. I will let you know if it worked.

Morning.
I found the problem.

I use ø in my features name and inside .zmp files instead of ø somehow they have been changed to O. Once I change them in my program to O I can see the data. This is ridiculous anyway. I am wondering if it's like that because of old Calypso 5.4
Do you have the same issue with the latest software too ?

Yeah, the good 'ol diameter symbol. I used to do that, until I realized how much they screwed things up. I would do exactly what you said about replacing them with O in the program. And I would recommend you ditch the practice of using the symbol in feature names, altogether.
