[No...]
Am I getting old or what? 😮 Calypso 2018 (6.6.28), offline seat. I have an existing program, containing a plane with space axis -X and a scanning strategy (circles) I copy the plane, change its X coordinate from 0 to -20 and run it in simulation. When I open the plane afterwards, the strategy lines have snapped back at where the plane originally was, and also the actual points are displayed at the old location. This is just one of those Tuesdays, right? Strategies should move with the feature, right? 😕 Never seen this before. [No...]
Circle yes. Pattern no. Formula yes. But not the cause. 🤠 Embarrassingly simple. Tom nailed it, but deleted it. 😃

[No...]
Much simpler. The first post has all the info needed. 😉 P.S.: In the second image, the CAD view is deceiving...

[No...]
Please sign in to view this quote. Yes 🤠 Let's not take this too far, since it's really a simple problem. But after so many years you may have become accustomed to ignoring information you think you don't need. At least now I know I'm not alone 😃 So here's the solution:
[Ma...]
One thing i noticed - coordinates doesn't correspond to feature point.
[Ke...]
The startegy X value does not "move with the plane", unless you use a forumula to connect the paths to the features nominal value.

I guess I never even thought about doing that (referencing a formula to the same feature) because I'm subliminally afraid of building a circlular reference.somewhere. [To...]
It does seem odd that it doesn't move with the feature. A polylines, grids, points all do.
[No...]
Please sign in to view this quote. Programming sloppyness if you ask me. Thinking about it, it's not even logical to always use (base) alignment coordinates for the center of the circle. I measure rectangular planes almost all the time, so I never had to think about this, but what does it do when the plane is under an angle to the alignment? Other feature types either reference the feature coordinate system or let you choose which method to use.
[He...]
Normally circle path on plane moves with the plane but if you have any formula for the location it will not move at all. In this case it seems you have formula for Y and Z and that causes X not to move with the plane. Bug or feature? Is there any way to tell anymore? I work a lot with formulas in the circle location, but I never tried to copy such a plane before. It would have been nice of Calypso to ask me if I want to move the strategy as well 🤣
