Does increased scanning speed increase probe wear?

The parts I normally deal with are made of a ceramic that's harder than the synthetic ruby tips commonly found on probes. As such, I tend to see a lot of probe wear. If the measuring force stays the same, will increasing my scanning speed increase probe wear?

It seems reasonabile to assume that it would, but it may not be a noticible difference.
You could always calibrate your stylus systems at 100mN, instead of 200mN; and/or invest in diamond coated styli(?)
