[Ro...]
So, im horrible at talking about myself, my duties and achievements. Honestly I haven't had much difficulty in the past going from job to job, ive pretty much been recruited by people ive had professional friendships with, so resumes and interviews have been for the most part just a formality. But as things change in crazy times i decided to polish up the resume and give the free market a look, but I'm awful at resume talk. Drop some suggestions you use in your summary, objective, skills, and experience, ill sort thru and maybe pick up on a couple phrases.
[Me...]
I literally just accepted a job offer last week programming for one of the top Space & Defense/Aerospace companies in the world. From all the interviews and resumes I've done in the past 15 years, the best advice I would give is: Be detailed on your resume about your CMM Software/Hardware & GD&T knowledge. The past few companies I've been, (I'm sure some in here could attest) I've had to be apart of the interviewing process and those three things mentioned are EXACTLY what our job entails for the most part. SPC, Gage R&R & CPK skills are also pretty handy on the resume. Don't be afraid to over-sell yourself brother!
[wi...]
Sell yourself. Treat yourself like a car and try to market in the same manor. GD&T, ASQ and certifications. Those are all regulated by most hiring firms. Cover letters are meh now a days. Short concise and to the point is always best. If you have social media and linkedin. Attach them in the header. It allows a virtual portfolio in a sense. I'm highly contemplating moving onto something different. I'll be at my company for 10 years and now have no more room to grow. Contemplating Texas or Arizona and leaving Wisconsin life behind. So if anyone needs a Quality Manager... 🤣

[Ch...]
I've been thinking of adding something like this ... CMM.............................................|----- GDT..............................................|----- Meeting unrealistic deadlines ...---| Gears............................................|----- Low Ball Pay.............................----| doing things the 'old' way..........----| Gage R&Rs....................................|------ Custom Printout.............................|----- PiWeb............................................|--- 🤣

[Ow...]
It's definitely an employee's market out there. Aside from mentioning certifications, schooling, degree's and maybe titles, one should definitely delineate on work ethic, integrity, responsibility, penchant for quality, discipline, humility and teamwork. It might be seen negatively by some but, I'm seriously considering putting my shingle out there to see if anybody would commit to offering more weeks of paid vacation. One talent/skill you might mention is the ability to work through a pandemic 😱 .

[Cl...]
Or you could buy a lap-top with Calypso planner and be your own boss. Ever thought about that as an option? No resume needed.

[Ro...]
FYI, it was good to have a resume on hand during the past couple months. I've not "applied" for any jobs, but I was contacted by a head hunter thru Linked in, and was contacted by 2 former co workers who added me to their job searches. I've had interviews with 3 separate companies. Tomorrow I will be putting my 2 weeks notice in at my current employer, and I'm going to head up the road a bit and start programming at a new place. Tomorrow I expect to be the most popular guy in the shop!
