[Ja...]
Hi guys, I recently installed an offline/planner seat. Up until now, I have only been using CMM seat and need directions on how to setup planner seat. Just need to know correct order of steps to follow in order to set it up. Now questions: 1) Should I copy the "config", "workarea","data" and "protocol" folders from current CMM seat to the offline seat folders for setting up Planner? 2) I see that for simulation purpose, I need to use Stylus system creator to build my probes. Up until now, I have only created stylus systems directly in stylus system management menu. So how should I approach this? i) First create masterprobe .ssc file on CMM seat and then create the rest of the probes and import ssc files and then copy them to planner/offline seat? ii) Would creating masterprobe.ssc file now on CMM seat create any problems with machine operation or change any values for masterprobe actual values and create problems with future probe calibrations? Thanks for your help guys!
[To...]
Some people copy the config folder of the machine but that doesn't give you the CAD stylus systems. What type of sensor? I typically build a machine from scratch. Below is a set up for RDS-VAST-XXT You can build your MasterProbe and all of your stylus systems using SSC on your offline seat. Then, under Planner > Import SSC File, select Import SSC MasterProbe, locate and select the MasterProbe ssc file. Click OK. Only need to this once. Next, click Load System, select the stylus system ssc file and click OK. Then, click Accept. If RDS machine, it will open Create New Stylus System window, but will only have the 1 -Z stylus. This is where is gets a bit tedious. Below is something I posted something on how to re-create all of the RDS angles from the RC List file from the machine. viewtopic.php?f=13&t=5118&p=33184&hilit=RC+list#p33184 I'm sure there is more. Hopefully, others will throw in some more for you.Planner - Machine Set Up - RDS_VAST-XXT_03_30_2021.pdf
[Ja...]
Thank you for that input, Tom. I did search for old posts and came across your document, which was really helpful and followed those steps. I have vast XXT TL3 sensor. 1) In the stylus system tab, the doc says update values for X,Y, and Z so I assume these values come from the actual CMM seat right? 2) Now, initally I did copy all those folders from CMM and it did give me all the stylus systems from my CMM seat. but then the problem still remains that for simulation run I still need masterprobe and other probes ssc files. So how to approach that then? So, to avoid all that, according to your suggestion to create machine tab from scratch and use stylus system creator to recreate all probes. So what are the steps involved when you create/use a new stylus/ stylus system in a simulation program? Do I just create that new stylus/ stylus system on CMM seat like I always did using stylus system management and not worry about using stylus system creator on CMM seat? [Ro...]
if you do a back & restore from your main CMM computer and your offline seat, everything including your tips and rack and settings and custom printouts will automatically be set. [To...]
Please sign in to view this quote. This is good for the stuff you mention but your simulation will not be correct and you won't have CAD models of your stylus systems.
[To...]
Please sign in to view this quote. 1) No these values come from the CAD version of the MasterProbe, XXT Sensor and RDS Adapter plate in SSC. 2) I think according to Roberto, you can run simulation but you won't see the XXT or other components of the stylus system. 3) Sorry, I'm a bit confused with this question/terminology.
