[Ch...] Posted September 3, 2021 Share Posted September 3, 2021 This is my first post on the Zeiss Forum so I do apologize if this is already a topic or in the wrong place. My Company just purchased a CMM from Zeiss and I'm having issues with the manual Pickup. I tried to start qualifying my styli but when I tried to do a manual pickup of the stylus system I got an error message saying "Please insert Stylus System - Roller Contacts are still open!" After seeing this I cleaned the faces of both the adapter plate and the Vast XXT and still nothing. I saw someone with the same issue but it was due to them buying the wrong adapter plate. It won't even detect my MasterProbe. I was able to put in a new stylus system and name in which it was able to auto store on the rack. Reloading the stylus caused it to pick it up and place it back down on the rack 3 times before erroring out with a different message. Im not sure if this is a simple fix or possibly a hardware issue but If more info is needed to understand the issue then let me know and I can provide it. [Ja...] Posted September 3, 2021 Share Posted September 3, 2021 Are you aligning the dot on probe head with that on the stylus system when manually picking up? Also make sure the roller contacts on the probe head and the stylus system are clean. Third thing to make sure is that your stylus adapter plate are made for XXT TL3 probe head only. Yes all dots on the stylus system are lining up correctly with the probe head and I wiped them with a small amount of alcohol then the silk cloth Zeiss includes and still no fix. The machine was setup two weeks ago by the tech and has had the masterprobe in it since. I just finished my training yesterday so today is the first day I've actually used the machine. i knew i had a problem when i started my CMM and Calypso with the masterprobe in the head but they were reading the stylus system as not_defined. I tried doing the manual pickup so i could tell the CMM that the masterprobe was in the head and that's when the errors occurred. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
