Offline program. Part orientation.

Sometimes when I am offline programming, I set up the base alignment correctly but Calypso thinks the part is sitting differently (orientation) on the table so that when I F9 through the program, there are certain clearances that it cannot travel to.

Ex: I set up my base alignment so the top face is facing up on the +Z direction but Calypso think the top face is +Y so the part is sitting on its side.

I mainly advise to manually rotate part to correct position in Z axis. Calypso sometimes messes up and rotates blocked ( granite ) edges from Z- to whatever as model rotates after base alignment sets up. After this happened I rather delete everything and start over again.

Check in CNC -> Travel paths -> Block edges ( or how it is correctly named )

The first thing I do after loading model is to go to CAD > Modification > CAD Model Transformation and rotate the model until I have it oriented the way I want. I don't care where the trihedron is, just want +Z pointing up, +X pointing to right and +Y pointing to back.

When you create the base alignment, the origin will move to the desired location based on the features you enter in the BA window.

The transformation must be done BEFORE creating any features.

Yup, it sounds like the OP is trying to create a base alignment on the part that's oriented in a different way than it's fixtured. This is something I struggled with when I started programming.
