[Er...] Posted August 30, 2021 Share Posted August 30, 2021 I have a part that we install 3mm balls into a 6.728" cylindrical tube along the OD cylinder. There is a callout that the center of the balls has to be 83.95mm +/-.0125 (and yes the detail part is inches, while the assembly is in mm. lol) Mathematically, if the balls are installed flush to the outside surface, it should be good so long as the OD is good. The problem is the form of the cylinder is .009-.010" causing the 83.95mm measurement from center to be small. When a sent data to the customer, the mentioned the following: "One thing I would like to ask is if you are using s “POINT SET” on the CMM when measuring? This will/can be an issue IF you are not." Does anyone know what this means? Is this a PC-DMIS term that i am unaware of? Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
