It may have passed the GRR but an out of balance stylus system puts unnecessary strain on the sensor always trying to keep the unit balanced. UPDATE: just read Richard's post. What he said... As mentioned, the weight on the Vast XT Gold (shorter than the Vast Gold) is 500g and the Vast Gold is 800g. But I have to wonder why the holey bar stock wasn't centered on the extension to make it better balanced naturally. You could probably adjust for that with the position of your workpiece on the machine, unless that position is locked in by some permanent fixturing...
