Renaming measurement plans.

Is there a faster way to change the plan name besides opening each program, then save-as with the new name?

We have to do a mass part number update...

There's a file called "username" in your part folder that you can open with notepad and change the name.

Are they stored on a network? I can rename mine by highlighting the program and right clicking it then choose the rename button, call it whatever I want and then just move on to the next one.

Exactly. You can open and rename various files for each program to accomplish it, but it seems it would be easier to run some sort of batch file that opens and saves your plans to the new naming convention. I guess that would depend on what you want to rename them to and if there was a pattern/rule that a batch file would work on

Don't forget Base systems folder. It will have the old Base and Start alignment names

I was advised do nothing inside the program file, that would be the recipe for disaster.
Save as is the best option.

It does. If you have several programs open and you go to File > Exit, you will prompted with the option to Save one by one or to Save All.

The fastest way may be to rename the inspection folder then edit the corresponding "username" folder. This could probably be programmed in a script or batch file if the same change is required for a number of measurement plans.
