NEWER VERSION OF CALYPSO

Got a program from a customer and it was a newer version of calypso than what we have installed. Will not open. Is there any work around this so I can use their program.

Unfortunately there isn't. Best suggestion would be upgrading to the newer version of CALYPSO.

There are "undocumented" workarounds, which you may find on the forum, but officially this is not supported and even the workarounds won't eliminate the basic problem:
New Calypso versions have new software features, possibly modified calculations etc. which an older version can not know or expect. So how should it handle them? The best it could do is to ignore unknown passages in the measurement plan. But what if other elements depend on those? You see there are good reasons why this is not supported.

Not that I know of. The problem would stay the same: What should it do with newer features? If it leaves them out, something may break in the measurement plan structure.

If you know that the newer version has introduced only minor changes, you can try one of the workarounds (as far as I remember it involves only editing of a version file). But I wouldn't rely on this as a standard procedure.
