[Ca...]
This is a new one for me. Profile .010 per 12 dia? I'm not quite sure what they are asking for. How would I check this? I don't have curve, not sure if that would be necessary. The surface it is referring to is a curved surface.PROFILE Q.PNG
[Da...]
I would interpret this as being profile within any given 12(mm/in) circle has to meet the spec. It is not explicitly part of Y14.5, so I would want to see a note on the drawing, in a SPOC document etc., defining this requirement. Absent that, I would ask the designers what they mean by the callout, and document that. This is just like unit flatness, but with a profile, not a flat plane. To be totally honest, I have never tried to do the following. I have done similar things, but not unit profile. It might not work. I don't know if any way to do this without FreeForm. Unless someone else has an idea of how to do it, the best you can hope for is that you meet the 0.01 tolerance to ABC, without any of the datum shift. With freeform, I would use the recall partial point set feature to create a mess of overlapping freeform features. I would probably use about a 50% overlap of the zones, unless I had reason to do more. Then you can create profile characteristics for each zone, and evaluate each one separately. Essentially, you are making the zones that calypso generates for unit flatness, but manually. Its a total pain, and will probably take ages to setup and to calculate.
