[As...]
Hello I have never gaged a TP callout of a slot. My FCF has called out three datums. (See the print attached). Does the TP to primary indicate that the tolerance zone of the slot has to be parallel to the central axis of the datum A ? Also while scanning the FOS in CMM, can I use the face of the slots to scan the slot and avoid the sidewalls of the slot? I don't have a proper size probe to scan the walls of the slots hence I don't have any other choice. Please advise.Top View.PNGFront.PNGSection View.PNG
[Da...]
Yes they are to be parallel to -A- , perpendicular to -B-, and -D- controls the rotational. The position callout is on the sidewalls not the back face. You will need to get a suitable stylus to probe these.
[SH...]
Datum D is a pattern, I think you have to use geometry best fit alignment.
[Ma...]
I wonder what B does - only fix in position is in my mind. Axis of A is restricting 2 degrees of rotation.
