[Ja...]
I have this excel file I found on this forum a long time ago that I use to merge excel reports into one file. I have some computers on windows 10 and some on windows 7. If I use this file to merge excel results on windows 10, I seem to be limited to a number of files it can handle. It starts merging results and gets to a certain number and then all excel files are closed and unsaved changes are lost. Today I had a folder with 27 excel files, and that was too much. I had to do it with a computer that has windows 7. I am guessing it is a setting in excel that puts a limit on circular formulas, but I can't find anything. Does any have any suggestions?Merge.xls
[Jo...]
I use this and it doesn't seem to have a file limit. What will make it crash is a dissimilar file. It uses the first file as template and if the rows don't match from any files compiled it crashes . I do get a note about clipboard capacity sometimes. [Ke...]
I used this file about 6 years ago, and it couldn't keep a large number of files in order... I would have to do small batches, or sort them.

[Ja...]
Please sign in to view this quote. I do have to sort them a lot. Usually I just highlight the date and time column and sort by time ran and that fixes the numeric order. I think it treats an extra digit as a decimal place. If you run 15 parts, you get #1 then #10, 11, 12 13 14, 15, then #2, as if it were 1.0, 1.1,1.2, est. I have learned to live with it. I have never seen anything actually get mixed up unless I have miniplans mixed in with the full programs.
