Runout

Trying to pass a type1, but keep getting high percentages (50+%) for runout. The callout is .001 runout of Datum -A- to Datum -B-. -A- is a .220 x .528 Ø cylinder and -B- is a .800 x .3730 Ø cylinder. Tried various strategies, i.e. cylinder to cylinder, circle to circle, circle to cylinder. Nothing seems to work?

Usually when I have issues with runout or concentricity, I check the circularity of the cylinders and use roundness to determine if the diameters are round or oval shape. This way you might have an idea that the part is running out of tolerance because the cylinders may not be "perfectly" round. Or try using points instead of scan to see if you get a difference in readings. But I am sure there are other methods.

Circle to circle is dependent on the spatial and planar alignments.
Cylinder to Cylinder, be sure to use at least 3 circle paths in each cylinder, equally spaced in the full length of the cylinder.

Please sign in to view this quote.

-A- is only .220" deep. -B- is long, but has a .080 x .572 slot down the middle. I think those two things present problems.
