New to me laptop gives security issues.

I have switched laptops to a more powerful laptop. I had Calypso on a previous one and it worked fine, except for some interaction issues with CAD models. Clicking on surfaces or diameter would glitch and pick feature behind or through the one(s) I wanted. I figured out that this was a graphics thing. The old laptop just used the basic installed graphics. It did not have an upgraded NVIDIA option. So this "new to me" laptop does and I have some info on how to set it up to work best with Calypso.

My issue now lies with the security of Carbon Black kicking me an unapproved error. It doesn't like something about acis29 application. I keep pushing the approval request to IT and get email confirmation that it is approved and then try to open Calypso to check to see if it opens and of course it doesn't.

Has anyone had IT issues that are required for security? How did you resolve the issue? I'm sure that there are other security software's other than this Carbon Black that is used here. I have also read (somewhere) that Calypso doesn't like restrictions and security software's don't like Calypso. I know that they(IT) will eventually figure this out. There are 6 computers in this building that have Calypso, not to mention my old laptop, on them and they work just fine. Guess the right IT guy/gal has to review my request and figure out what is going on.

The acisXX.exe is the CAD core of Calypso and for some reason always tries to establish some kind of network/internet connection, which makes the firewall's alarm bells ring. Most of the time I ask our IT guy to approve the connection, but there were also times when I myself cancelled the request. In both cases nothing apocalyptic happened. I guess it's just some kind of phone home feature.

Thanks Norbert, I hope they get this figured out soon. IT tries to put so may restrictions on systems. The CNC programmers have issues with there CAD software also.
