We have a very old OGP smartscope (camera only) with Measure-X software. We are getting rid of this
machine, and need to replace with something comparable. When I say comparable, I mean the user
friendly aspect, as well as cost. Any suggestions on what to get? Part size range from .5" - 6.0"

Are you trying to say that Measure-X is user friendly?? Lol. No way, man.

Depending on what you are looking to measure, you might look at the O-Detect.

I have been using a Micro-Vu with Inspec for over 10 years. I could show you how awesome it is but I haven't worked with any competitive machines. Maybe some are better. I don't know. I also have a Keyence IM. I could show you how that doesn't compare.

It's great until you need to modify your program. Then trying to figure out which step does what becomes a pain in the butt. My other favorite complaint was having to create 4 circles with a feature finder tool, then creating a composite circle to combine them all. I started in Zone3, and then went back to learn the other two (Measure-X, and MeasureMind), and I wanted to claw my eyes out.

We have about 20 Keyence IM's. We are happy with them. Do you know the price for the Micro-Vu?

$24,000.00 - $105,700.00
Their lowest model up to their highest with all the bells and whistles.

You can actually go to their website and actually get pricing for any of the machines and configure it with any add-ons. I think pretty rare to see such upfront pricing.

We have 3 Keyence IM 7030 T's that replaced our OGP Smartscope. I like it for most everything except for GD&T. Our first unit was about 70k. Our next two we got a deal on at about 59k each. The Keyence sales people will sometimes make you a deal toward the end of the sales period.
