[ro...]
I have a customer who recently purchased a Micura. He was trying to do a base alignment using the granite table as Z=0. the probe he had on would not reach the table. he put the master on and it would not reach the table. he called ZEISS support and they told him that was correct. i have a hard time believing this when the envelope is 500x500x500. has anyone come across this?? 🧑💻
[To...]
I can remember not being to probe the table on an old Contura XT with some probes until we put a sub-plate plate on top of the granite.
[Er...]
With our "everyday" probe we can't touch the granite. Changing to a longer probe allows us to touch the granite when needed. For us it is an extremely rare occurrence as most fixtures raise the part. I have just entered X,Y, and planar before when doing so in the base alignment. No need to touch the granite. It uses CMM alignment.
[Ma...]
Please sign in to view this quote. The travels are 500x500x500 aren't they? You have some room on the machine both above and/or below the Z travel limits depending on the probe you use. This is very normal.
