[Th...]
Hello guys, I'm new to Calypso. How would you guys do the composite profile callout? Lets say Datum A is the top surface. Datums B & C is middle of the window. Do I do the positions on the 10x holes as a pattern or individually? Does it matter at all?3.png
[To...]
The position is fully constrained so you can do individual position call outs or 1 best fit bore pattern with no rotations or translations in the best fit window. To do the lower tier of the profile, it will require free form surfaces or curves.
[Th...]
Gotcha. I have both FF and curves. I would just call out two profiles individually with the one profile using Datums A,B, and C and second profile with just -A-?

I thought the preferred method was fully define Datums and then allow translation and rotation ?

Unless a profile is fully constrained, you will not get a result when using a cylinder or plane. If you're evaluating a free form surface or curve, best fits will be applied where not constrained. A good way to verify what is happening is to open a default printout window. In the example below, I created a free form surface and recalled the points from a plane.Constrained to A only.jpgConstrained to ABC.jpg

Eventhough it is completely constrained, you can work with best fit bore pattern because it can save a lot of time instead creating 10 individual true positions, also you will get the best fit graph. I rarely worked with individual position.
